KnightTime with the Coach

March 1, 2008

To all Knights, both young and old and older...

There are times in life when one is suddenly struck with how fortunate one is.

Yes, in our lives, we all encounter those instance when we feel a little sorry for ourselves, or we think that we are unlucky, or we just wish we could have a little more...just a little.

Then, out of the blue, comes what is called a "reality check" that brings us, or should bring us, to a place where we suddenly realize how really lucky we are just to have our health and the health of our children.

Brad Chang of the Boys 3rd brings us two such stories of families and children who really need our prayers.

Please read the following stories and give a little time to ask the Lord to send comfort and hope and help to these two brave families.

These two families, and our own Penas with JP, battle everyday with such courage that it boggles the imagination.

How fortunate we can all consider ourselves that we are spared the need to find such a limitless supply of courage everyday.

Fortunate? Fortunate indeed!

Please think of how much you love your own child as you pray for these particular boys and all the boys and girls you don't know who need your prayers and your thoughts.

Please, please pray for them all.

Hi Prayer Friends:

Please keep Derek and his family in your prayers. Derek is currently battling leukemia (like Dale Inouye) and needs your prayers. He (and his family) have overcome some very deep tests of their faith when Derek had a cancerous brain tumor removed a couple of years ago. He is a courageous young man who takes everything in stride.

Attached is a photo of Derek Tao (on the left with my oldest son Derek on the right) that always warms my heart. These two kids are drawn to one another through adversity, love of life and love of our Lord. They have both gone through life threatening challenges and always rise above it all.

Thanks in advance for keeping Derek and his family in your prayers. May you all have a blessed week.

Take care,

Brad

Please keep Dale and his family in your prayers. They are going through a
very difficult test of faith and need spiritual support. Dale and his family
are tremendous spiritual role models for all of us.

Thanks for keeping this family in your prayers. Have a blessed day.

Take care,

Brad
