Oh! Oh!

Anyone seen Coach Bob Oh of the Knights Boys 4th?

Last I saw, he was coaching our team in Lancaster for the AVAC New Year's Kick-Off tournament.

The Knights are truly lucky to have found such a coach as this. Hobbling on crutches (two, mind you, not just one!) Coach Oh brought his youngsters to play mighty ARC in the morning game.

What transpired in this game was enough to drive a coach crazy.

While I watched, our Boys 4th must have missed 15 shot attempts from 2 feet on in!

They missed layup after layup after layup and still only lost by 8 or so.

We won't even talk about missed free throws.

Still, there was Coach Oh; standing calm in a sea of misses, teaching our boys to the end.

Thank goodness we were in the desert though. I would have worried about him if there was anything other than sand to jump into.

Life and the Boys 4th did get better though as they won their second game.

This will get better as this team does possess a lot of talent and potential.

The Junkyard Dogs once again made a reputation for themselves.

Very Simply The Smallest Team in the competition, the JYD's won their first game, lost the second by 2 (and they were huge 4th grade girls involved there), and lost the last by 8, though many of our boys went down injured.

Iceman Joe Green even ended up in the emergency room.

Awaiting word now on his condition.

Though they went 1-2, the Doggies had every coach in the tournament applauding their efforts and their skills.

Go, go Boys 3rd.

Let's put some pressure on our team coordinators and save the rest of what happened to our teams to be read about in the Sports Page.

I know the Boys 8th, the Boys 7th, and the Boys 6th and the Girls 8th all have plenty to write about. Some really juicy things too.

Check our site for more details.

I will tell you, though, that all teams had a great time.

AVAC was a great host and all went well.

The Knights will go back again in June.

Make sure you don't miss that one!

There is now a new module on our website for the new KNIGHTS GOLF CLUB.

Check it out and give Coach BadDog Billings a call if you are interested.

He has put together a really nice program that is really reasonable.

This club will be opened to ALL golfers in the South Bay area and the idea is for youth golf tournaments to be attached to the regular youth basketball tournaments so there is a one-two bang on tournament weekends.

Here is some of the foursomes committed to the DUEL IN THE DESERT tournament to be played at the Cimarron Golf Club in Palm Springs on Friday, March 14 with a tee off at 1:00 pm.

Team captain of foursome listed:

Ed Billings
Joe Green
Brad Kojaku #1
Brad Kojaku #2
John Yule
Chris Ball
Ken Shimada
Brad Chang
Bob Uchida
David Miya

We only have room for a mere 8 more foursomes.

Don't be left out as this will be a blast!

Get ahold of Ed right away.

More info under the TOURNAMENTS section of the website.

See you all soon.
