FUN IN THE SUN-KNIGHTS STYLE! With the Sunday plyometrics sessions now in full bloom, our ardent Knightsters took to the sand with their usual enthusiasm in their pursuit to gain a significant edge over any other players out there eating potato chips, drinking cokes, and playing video games. With Coach Manny pushing them, our Knights of the Sun began sweating in earnest as their muscles began to take shape in front of our very eyes.
As Jordan, Andrew, and Christian are jumping out of the gym; the program has
indeed begun to produce tremendous results. Our moms are taking beach walks and marveling at the beauty that exists in our California lifestyle. Brothers and sisters are playing in the sand and trying out the surf line with their toes. Our World Class KnightsClumpers are all busy deciding at which of the cool, California beach restaurants that they are going to try this week.
No, let's not get the wrong idea here. Not only that...they had fun!
I expect plenty of steals this weekend from those poor other players from
other teams that are "just" trying to play basketball. Yep. Everyone strip down to swim suits and get to it. With drills that were perfected years ago at a local university, the Knights of Today were subjected to some cutting edge drills that increase the coordination levels and bring balance to the universe. Soon, everyone was dripping wet, limp as a wet noodle, and tired as an out of shape marathoner.
The only question then was...Can they all make it back to their water
bottles?
As their kids underwent the training, you could see the RoadDog, Claudia,
Andrea, David, Denise, Tracy, Debbie, Tiffany, Brian and Freddie dying to
get in there with them. Team Jakey's Knights are the famous Knights against Cystic Fibrosis who battle the disease in our own Jakey Pena's name. T-shirt sales for this event will go on sale sometime next week, as soon as we receive the sample. Shirts must be worn to show support for Jakey on the 5K Walk and to show how much we love him. All proceeds from shirts sales go towards the Jakey Knights Fund.
More info as we approach the event. All are encouraged to make their reservations at the Holiday Inn in Santa Barbara for a Friday-Saturday stay. We have requested all teams be given early games, so it is advisable that you all try to stay from Friday night so you can enjoy the amenities in the Santa Barbara area. The Holiday Inn is only 2.5 miles away from all the action and all the wonderful distractions that Santa Barbara can offer. The price is only $149 for the two day stay. Some have found $189 for one night and some will have to travel from 30 minutes away just to get to their game site. Give it a thought and you may decide that it would be worth it to stay in a four star hotel next to all the action. Up to you, but the quicker you decide, the better.
With the nice weather coming, Santa Barbara will be full. |
