BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!

Well, maybe not that good, but the idea is there.

I want to belatedly thank all of you who did such a tremendous job on the BAD BOYZ tournament.

The gyms ran flawlessly and the snack bars were great.

The PV gym supervisor claimed that he had NEVER seen his gyms soooo clean and proper than the way our people left them.

  • Too Tall Yule and the Boys 7th actually 409'd the restrooms at PV!

  • SpinDog and the Boys 3rd left the Peninsula gym spotless.

  • Same story with the Boys 4th/Girls 8th at Torrance, as Joy-Joy and Yumi-Yum took charge. I was there as they all helped put away chairs, sweep floors, and patrol the stands for containers.

  • Not be left out, the Miraleste crowd under the able supervision of my sis, JoAnn, Che, Irma, Annika, and Mina; and Sal and Maria Perri, and all the other Boys High School team was also a sweet success.
Nice Asian snack bar. I saw the rice bowl!

  • Lastly, but not leastly; there was the Boys 8th at North High taking care of TWO gyms.

Talk about a priceless moment: Philip de Souza trying to cook hot dogs!

The heart and mind was willing, but physical labor is just not included in the services provided by the American Express Card.

I also saw Dave and Denise Miya refuse to leave and stay from start to finish along with Tracy and Lexi.

Then, goodness gracious, there was gym supervisor Tammie making sure that the North gym was the most conspicuous.

She arranged for not only ONE pay-per-view fight in the stands, but had a second bout a few games later.

I have been traveling to tournaments for over 25 years and have NEVER seen one riot in the stands, let alone TWO!

I understand Cox/PV cable was able to get both fights on tape and we should be receiving residuals checks for years to come.

Thanks Tammie for that clearly inspired line of thinking.

Thanks to you all and to all the parents that worked so many long hours to make this event such a success.

MAJOR SUCCESS STORY: When Jordan Shum first arrived on our scene years ago, he was a less than a success in the academic world.

His grades were good for a Jordan, but horrible for anyone with a brain.

Well, now a few years and a lotta tears later; I am so pleased and proud to report that Jordan's latest report card was all A's, B's, and one C.

MORE THAN THAT: I would have thought Jordan would've won a Nobel Prize before he got even half decent conduct grades.

Jordan, at his best, was a nightmare waiting to happen.

WELLLLLLL, with his latest report card, Jordan went from an all time low of 6 "U's" to his current status of NO, as in ZERO, "U's"!

Am I proud of this boy?

What do you all think?

Great job, boy!

We are all so proud of you.

Next stop-Las Vegas!

I hope you are all getting ready to support our good friend, Rich Goldberg and ARC at the end of this month at the ARC Las Vegas National Championships.

The SpinDog has arranged for us all to be able to stay at the fabulously new Red Rock Casino and all of the amenities that are there.

I have heard that this place has:

Bowling alley...

Movie theatres...

A horseback ride to a steak house and back...

Kayaking...

Indoor rock climbing...

and more!

Anything else?

Oh, yeah.

A full days schedule of Knights basketball.

Looks as if we are taking the Boys High School, the Boys 8th, the Boys 7th, and the Boys 3rd.

See you all there.

The Knights Poppas have been challenged to a golf match up with the fathers from SGV.

Every year, SGV has it's very own golf tournament to support their club's functions. This year, the tournament is at the Rio Hondo Golf Course in Whittier.

Over 100 golfers will be there to fight for the prestigious title of champion of SGV.

While our golfers are invited to compete for the OVERALL title, there will be a match between 8 of our golfers against 8 of theirs for the right to hoist the 1st Annual SPK-SGV Team Title Trophy.

Captain SpinDog and First Mate, Too Tall Yule are now in the process of choosing our best 8 to represent us against those guys from SGV.

Let's all support them in their quest to be the best.

The tournament is Tuesday, September 17.

Anyone who can go support these guys are MORE THAN WELCOME.

More exciting news to come....Stay tuned!
