BJ
Stanton
It is always a pleasure to hear from
Knights Alumni.
BJ Stanton played here two years ago
until he and his family moved to Rialto.
I will always remember Yolanda, his
mother, and her efforts to keep BJ playing here by
continuing to drive him here to San Pedro for practices and
games even when they had moved to Rialto.
Please enjoy her letter, as I have, on
BJ's progress:
Hi Dan
and Bob,
I hope
all is well with both of you and the Knights.
I just
wanted to take a minute to update you on Brandon. It has been a long
time (2 1/2 years since we moved away) but I think of the Knights often
and wish BJ could have played for you longer. BJ is still playing
basketball although I have not yet seen a program comparable to the
Knights. He no longer plays travel ball, however, he did make starting
point guard on his high school freshman team. He still hasn't grown -
much, he's 5'6 and approximately 105 pounds. However, he managed to make
the team anyway.
He and
I both agree that without the Knights training there is no way he would
have made it on his high school team (Carter High School in Rialto).
There were dozens of kids who tried-out and many were very good. He was
invited to play over the summer as a second string point guard on the
Carter High varsity team, however, freshman are not allowed on the
varsity team at his school. Freshman can only play freshman ball.
I would
like to thank you for all you've done for Brandon. Your drills and
coaching have allowed him to play high school basketball and the
potential for a great high school experience. His first high school game
is tomorrow, his first league game is 12/19/06 and I will check back in
the future.
Once
again, I just wanted to check-in and thank you!
Yolanda
