Palm Springs - It Finally Arrived

Palm Springs it finally arrived - thank god. If I had to hear my husband ask me one more time if I collected anymore checks for the golf tournament I was going to scream. All and all his hard work paid off, the golf tournament was a success. With golf conditions like that, it wasn't about golf, unless you like wind and sand blowing in your face at every hole. It was about klumping with the Knights, their families, and friends. A Great Time.

But after a day like that, I was looking forward to Saturday and going to Palm Springs High School to see our 3rd graders play. Saturday also marked the debut of the 3rd grade cheerleaders - I mean the Knights moms' sporting their new Knights T-Shirts with their kids jersey number on the back.

Our 3rd graders took on the boys of A.V.A.C. on Saturday. What a thrilling game. The lead changed so many times in the last 3:00 minutes, I almost had a nervous breakdown . Unfortunately, the Knights came up short losing by 1 on a free throw shot in the last five seconds 25-26. Then it was off to watch the 8th grade boys. Our 3rd graders really love to watch them play, I think they know thats going to be them oneday. After the game we went back to the Courtyard for some fun around the pool with rest of the Knights. Later that evening, the parents got to experience the Lord of the High C's (aka Michael Atashi) and his traveling bar in the lobby of the Courtyard. The ones who didn't get to experience it, check out the photos on the Knights website, maybe you can catch it next year. It was Klumping at its finest. Well the night just wouldn't of been complete it I didn't mention Tiffany. I think the Knights are still exchanging recipes for the delicious "chocolate cake".

Sunday proved to be a good day for the 3rd grade Knights. They ended on a high note by beating SGV (and Baby Shaq) to take 3rd place in their division. But for me the high point was watching our 3rd graders cheer on the boys of A.V.A.C. in the Championship game, the team that beat them the day before and congratulate them after they won. The sportsmanship that the 3rd grade Knights displayed was something to behold. Then in turn, after A.V.A.C. received their trophies outside, to see them come over and high five our boys and say thank you for cheering us on was great. Our boys see them as the opponent when their on the court, but when the ball is put away, they can say thats my friends from A.V.A.C. Thats what this tournament is all about for these boys, loving the game, having fun, making friends, and if they win a couple games along the way its just icing on the cake.

Knights, it was a great weekend.

Lets do it again next year.
